Ruger 10/22 cracked receiver

Recently when cleaning my 10/22 i found a hairline crack in the receiver. this was on the LH side opposite the bolt. Can anyone tell me if this will affect performance or if it poses any safety concerns.

I'd take it to a gunsmith for that answer..

Just wondering if you use the stock buffer and what ammo you use?
I can see if you had the stock buffer and were using hyper vol like cci new seg or stingers, I can see a receiver maybe cracking after a ton of shooting.
Other than that, must be a defect or a dropped receiver.

I'd get it checked out or give a call to Ruger, I can't see it getting better as you use it.
