Ruger 10-22 Disrtibutor Special Edition

Hi. I bought this 10-22 a few months back and have not had time to shoot it yet. Now, I have no first hand experience with 10-22's other than shooting a few rounds from a friends. His gun had a barrel band --- mine does not and the barrel does not appear to be free floated and seems it may have a pressure point at the front of the barrel channel. Remembering that I've not shot it yet -- Do these guns benefit from free floating barrels? I have read that I shouldn't expect accuracy anyway but they are allot of fun plinking & ground hogging.

Shoot it and let us know how it shoots and then we'll tell you if you need to "fix" it by free floating or glass bedding. Trigger work is mandatory

your buddy has a different model than yours,his stock is dfferent thats why you have no barrel band.....
