Hi guys, i was wondering if anyone has or has seen a Ruger 10-22 Finger Groove sporter which came out in 1966, it featureda monte-carlo stock, forestock with finger grooves, also had a black pistol grip cap,..some had a checkered pistol grip..these rifles were in production from approx 1966 till June or July 71

In approx Aug, 1966 the first Canadian Centennial Ruger 10-22 shipments to dealer began, there were 4430 centennial 10-22's made,... thanks for all your replies

I have the finger groove sporter deluxe with black pistol grip cap. Bought it in in 1969 or so. I have run probably in excess of 10,000 round through it of every kind of 22 LR ammo available. Never had a fail to feed or a jam to-date. Good accuracy - at least minute of gopher, as many thousands of them could testify, had they survived.

You have a very rare version of the Ruger 10-22, i only ever saw them advertised in the old SIR catalouge from Winnipeg, in the late 60's and early 70's, i believe they were listed at about $75.00, too much for this farm boy earning $2.00/ hour throwing bales,..i ended up buying a CIL Anschutz model 125 for $42..lol,..i go to a few gun shows both in BC and Alberta,..never see either the finger groove sporter, or Canadian Centennial sporter

A friend of mine inherited one from his Dad. It's been used hard and is still getting used hard.
The monte carlo stock sucks for shooting the iron sights.
The fore end of the stock is basically a Hougue profile.

you are correct about the forestock being the same profile as a Hogue stock, i changed my 1984 era 10-22 to a black hogue stock, added a Hornet trigger assembly the factory trigger was awful, and Tech aperature sightas, certainly a big improvement over factory open sights

I sold an uncheckered one on EE a few months ago. It took a few weeks or bumps. You must have missed it.
That stock was something else. As I recall, the gun itself weighed 4.75 lbs and that was due to the featherweight stock.
Trigger was normal 10/22 however.
