Looking for a supplier for hammer and adjustable sear for Ruger 10/22. Must be available from a supplier in Canada

Power Custom or any others that users recommend.

not sure about the sear, but a vq hammer is a pretty good way to go. Apparently Jo Brooks sells vq stuff and i know bits of pieces has lots of 10/22 goodies. I do my hammers myself. About an hour of sanding and polishing and a 1 1/2 - 2 lb trigger is the result and its free to boot.

I have all but given up on finding a Ruger trigger or parts here in Canada

The$100 limit or $500 limit with an export permit from the USA source of parts has pretty much killed any hope of having something imported from the States. The suppliers don't want to bother with dealing with the export permit or they charge fees for doing the paper work. I can't really blame them, its easier to say no than bother for a small sale. Hornet has a drop in unit for $96 + $38 shipping (just under the $100). I was looking for something like the Timney trigger unit but its over a $100 means you need an export permit. Filing down the hammer might be the only option but if its not done right could create an unsafe situation.

Thats awesome you should do a DIY for it and send it to us 10/22 junkies! hehe

Msytic is sold out of Timney triggers unknown when they will get anymore

I tried ordering from Brownells Although in the shipping rules they say they will ship trigger parts to Canada under $100 I placed an order for $89 next day I recieved this on a PDF

I have read some scary reviews on thier reworked triggers, you still have the"creep" and plastic trigger that I really don't care for, Before I ordered one of those I would rework the trigger myself end up with the same thing.

I am going to the USA this month if I bring back a trigger and a sear my wife could bring back a hammer both of us would be under a $100. I just don't like the thought of them showing up on an X-ray going through customs!

It's not Canadian Customs you'd have to worry about.

If the Americans do an outbound check you're screwed. $100 exemption only applies to exporters that are registered.

I tackled my own trigger job today (i was influenced by this thread lol) and it went great...I started with a stock 7 3'4 dirty trigger pull and now im down to a 2lb even clean pull. I basically took everything about...polished everything up including the sear, and took a bit of material off the hammer! Its awesome! I love it
