Ruger 10/22 Headaches

Ruger 10/22 target

The manual on the target model specifically warns against using the Stinger brand....you have a match chamber and this load will damage it.....
I have the same rifle with an older Weaver 15 X scope that I use for small bore silhouette shooting....using CCI std. velocity bullets....it will shoot better than I can...

Just took apart my rifle, pretty much everything except the safety. That American Eagle plain lead ammo is so messy there was lead everywhere. Also lots of paint in the receiver too. Managed to fix my bolt release, didn't realize that the spring mounted to the hammer pin was suppose to go over the bolt release.

All I need to figure out is the scope/barrel issues and then I will have a very nice rifle. One thing I was thinking of was that the old school dovetail mounts on my scope (Bushnell .22 Rimfire 4x fixed) don't sit properly which might cause the shooting too far to the right. Also was thinking that maybe my scope is mounted too high up (rings are 1/2 inch, from the top of the rail mount to the bottom of the scope tube).

EDIT: I was remounting the scope and noticed that when I would tighten the rings to the rail it would shift over to the right. It looks like the dovetail on the 1022 rail is far too wide for my scope mount. I guess new mounts are a must now.
