as u can see in the two images the fwd portion of the rail clamps around your stock. In the case of a Hogue some modification is necessary. the aft portion of the rail extends back to the 4 taped scope mount screw locations !

hope this clears things up, as its sitting now its missing a stock that I hope to receive in the next week ! :)

when its complete Im hoping to have a finished product similar to this...............

Ok I finished it tonight ! the hogue stock came in yesterday ! and Im really impressed with it !! when I first fitted the action into the stock I was amazed how snugly it fit. With the stock ruger wood carbine stock, u could feel the receiver moving around ever so slightly. Also noted as a difference between the two stocks is in the magazine area the hogue is much better and seems to take up the space between the sides of the mags and stock so they don't rock from side to side as they did in the wood stock. ( mags used were butler creek 25rnd steel lips)

ok onto the build.

Tonight I had to cut back about two inches of rubber stock material and file away some nylon to make the shoulder needed to install the lower portion of the utg quad rail.
This was kinda scary ! but all worked out once you have removed the rubber over mold you are left with the nylon frame of the stock this was shaped with a razor file(Rasp). All in all about 30 min of work ! much easier than I expected !!

now I'm off to bed tomorrow pics !!
