Ruger 10/22 mag update incase anybody was searching

A BX25 magazine IS specifically prohibeted by name. It's the butler creeks and other aftermarket brands that shouldn't be
Why would you think the BX25 is any different than the BC mags?

Both were available before the pistol.

I don’t see how either, are prohibited, in the 25 rnd capacity.

Example 2*: The Ruger BX-25 magazine, chambered for 22 LR calibre, is designed and manufactured for use in the Ruger SR22 rifle, the 10/22 family of rifles/carbines and the 22 Charger handgun. As a result, this magazine is a prohibited device unless modified so its capacity is 10 cartridges or less. That’s no different than their interpretation of the BC mags. Just because they put it on the web, do not make it so.

Are the BX mags, mentioned in the FA?

I know people got their own opinions about this issue.
And I’m not saying you’re wrong,as it’s a tricky situation.

But I believe the BX is no different than the BC.
Both were originally designed for the rifle.

Just because they cut the stock and barrel off,do not change that fact.

I don't disagree with your logic one bit... but the fact that RCMP mentions BX25 by name and does not mention any of the aftermarkets...

The BX mags specifically mentioned for use in Charger pistol on their original packaging that is why RCMP bulletin names them. TheBC mags were introduced prior to the existence of the Charger.

I don’t think packaging got anything to do with it.
And I thought the BX mags were made before the pistol.

Wrong and wrong.

yes, I just researched it. Sorry.
The BX was designed in 2011,and was made to fit in the charger.
But I still don’t understand why you can’t use it in a rifle, as it’s unlimited in a rifle.

Ok, so I want to try and understand this. Is it legal to use an unpinned BX25 mag? We all know it is for the Butler creek. I'm just wondering if maybe the BX25 is a copy of the Butler creek or how it was designed..?

Anyone know where to get 25rd Butler creek mags or gsg drums?

No an unpinned BX25 is prohibited. A butler creek is said to be prohibited but is debatable and possibly unenforced. You won't be able to buy any in Canada unpinned at this point

Do you or anyone know where you can get pinned 25rd Butler creek or gsg drums? Butler creeks are definitely not prohibited, I don't believe the gsg drums are designed for the charger either.

How come you believe the BX25 to be prohibited, aside from the nonsense that the rcmp says, what's the evidence to suggest that? I'm not saying your wrong, I just want to be sure. From what Ive read it does mention the charger on the bx25 package and was built after the charger came out. I don't know if that means (in legal terms) that it was designed for it.

I guess the question is, is it a rifle mag or a pistol mag.

The original Ruger mag was originally a Savage 99 mag. So the BX 25 , is designed off of the 10 rounder.

So technically shouldn’t all Ruger brand mags be designed for the rifle?
The design came before the 10 22 and the charger.

What difference do it make, what they now fit in.

I saw some pinned BC @ Basspro last Saturday. NOt sure if they still have them.

Well that's what I believe to be true... the internet is not the be all and end all definition of any answer... so you do you, and I'll do me. But I would never ever be caught with any device deemed prohibited... you knock your socks off and try it out. See how well it works out for you.
