I've been looking for a reasonably priced 10/22 on CGN but it seems like every one that is posted that has nothing done to it is being sold for more then the price of one brand new. In vancouver I can buy a brand new one for $270 from several different shops. Just saying I'm a little confused by why this rifle cost more used then new.

I don't think u realize that rifles on EE have been broken in and therefore are more valuable than brand new rifles.

I would agree that of all the makes/ models of firearms for sale on this site the Ruger 10/22 is the most marked up. It gives me a good laugh everyday though to see guys asking $300+ for a used stock one. I can buy them new all day long for $250 regular price. Lol

I'd have to agree that is likely due to shortages. I looked for ages before I found the takedown model. There were a few on the EE for above retail, but I was patient and the takedown finally came in at the retailer I go to most often. I scooped it up immediately.

Lever Arms has them for $265, and they have them in stock. I picked up mine from Wholesalesports for $250. They're out there, but yeah, the shortage last year had these things valued pretty high in the used market.

Doesn't matter if anything has been done. That does not add to the value. Supply and demand rules, even with used kit. Ruger doesn't care about demand in Canada either. They can sell every 10/22 they make, Stateside. That's how they can ask $300ish for a .22.

I sold an old one two weeks ago for to cheap because I had about 20 PMs in short order wanting it. The guy that bought it unwrapped it and put it on the EE yesterday or day before for a hundred dollars more and he'll probably get it.

On sale for $359US I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat IF I wanted a 10/22.

Personally I wanted to sell my 10/22 with scope, I paid 360$ for the rifles taxes in 100$ for the scope, 40$ for rings, and 100$ for 2 hc3r. I took the rifle to the range twice and the rifle is prestine no safe kisses or scratches I asked 450$ First Then 350$ But all I got where tire kickers, but often got the I can get it 250$ at this or that shop, guess all you have to do is look at the whole package and not only the asking price.

But my advice for you Never EVER !!! Buy something rare :p i've even seen guys calculate their gas in the total price of a firearm.

Good luck on your hunt

I just checked. It sold. It was 20 yrs old and scratched and dinted and there was no paint left on the trigger group. People are crazy.

People may be crazy, but you sir, are honourable.
And that is worth way more than a hundred bucks.

I think I saw that rifle and would have bought it even though I already have one.

the older ones with the steel trigger groups are sought after apparently...
