Well the Viper sold, so now its time to get the Ruger and start the project.Can anyone send me in the right direction for the "steel lips" mag, Butler Creek carbon barrels etc. I'm looking at a stock in the US, but I believe that it will require a export permit? email or PM with details as per board rules for non supporting dealers.

If your goung to go through the trouble of building up a 10/22 unless budget absolutly limits you then I would stay away from the BC barrels the folks on RFC are not too keen on them the steel ones are reported as OK, The ultra light ones seem to be universally crap. The green mountain's seem to be the most liked. I am not sure which one of the RFC sponsers will to the paperwork to export a barrel but I seem to remember that there is one you'l just need to wait for paperwork to clear.

A stock should be no problem another RFC sponser stated that all custom papers state that it is wooden sporting goods, so no problem shipping to us.

for the steel lip mags get them from wholesale sports, just got and ordered four which where delivered in less then a week..... also got the mag loader to make life easy :)

I found Milarm in Edmonton to have a great selection of 10/22 stuff. I bought a Hogue stock, bull barrel, and a couple of Volquartsen parts from them.

export/import

There are several U.S. sources for barrels. The powers that be would have us believe that an export permit is required for a rimfire barrel. I have found that this is not the case, I have personally brought back and bought numerous rimfire barrels from the US. I have gotten barrels from Boyd's, Whistlepig and from private individuals. Don't believe everything you hear. By the law, only receivers require an export permit. Just my .02.

I got EVERYTHING from rimfiresports.com ecept the receiver.
Volquartsen fluted barrel with muzzle break A++++
Volquartsen TG200 trigger kit A+++++
Volquartsen bedding
choose the stock you like, I got the thumbhole laminate

spent ~ $2000 CAD
the rifle shoots 1 hole group with ANY ammo at 25y.

Don't believe you missed the slap fest we had last night about Milarm. They have your mags and just got in a ton of Volquartson parts.
