Ruger 10/22 stainless mount

So I bought ruger 10/22 stainless, stock except B x 25 ruger trigger installed. Anyways the aluminium factory mount, is it any good or should I be looking for a better mount before I add glass! What I would like really is if scope I put on screws up, I want the ability to see the irons without removing the mount ideally! Any suggestions guys

The factory rail isnt that good in my opinion, I did have some issues with a certain brand of scope rings not fitting the way I wanted on the rail. I did replaced all mine with EGW mounts as they are better quality. As for finding a mount so you can still use iron sights, there are mounts out there but I find it causes the scope to be mounted to high.

Side note, the bx trigger upgrade is fantastic!

The factory rail is fine or you can replace with a weaver base. T09 I believe is the part number. Or you can go for Leopold base and rings which are a nice system and remove easily to use iron sights.

The factory rail is ok i have it on a rifle now there arent a lot of cuts in it if you use weaver rings. If you want to see the sights too look for a set of Kwik-sights. They are see through mounts/rings that screw directly onto the receiver although you wont have a lot of room to see if you use a large bell scope like 40mm +.
