Ruger 10/22 tactical feeding issues

Hi I just bought a brand new 10/22 it's having problems feeding a bullet into chamber..99% of the time am I doing something wrong or have I got a lemon. Very disappointed with it

Hi, I had the same issue when the magazine was filled up to 10 rounds, Maybe there is a break in perioid on them idk. Try putting 5 rounds in first and then making your way to 10.
I have the same rifle, the 10/22 tactical and thought the same thing.

Are the bullets hitting the bottom or top of the chamber???

You may need to carefully file the chamber ramp area to open it up just a bit.

Could be a mag spring tension issue as well.

They are hitting the bottom of the chamber

How many different mags did you try? I would try one you know is good first maybe a friend's or just buy a new one. (Could always resell it). That would be the first thing I would try.

No expert but I think it is a break in issue. Try round nose if using hollow points

most of the time when your having issues with a misfeed its a magazine issue.

first and easiest thing to do is try another magazine.
i know it sounds silly and too easy but i have 30 magazines for my AR and there are 2 that will just not work in it at all.
ive given up on those 2 and have sent them away.
there is no difference i can see between them and all the other magazines i have, they just dont work in my gun.

ive had the same issues with magazines in my Rugers.
1 Ramline i had for years worked in like 5 of my 10/22's but there was 1 i think it was my folding stock 10/22 that just would not cycle it.

try another mag.

after that if your still having issues then you can start to look at the feed ramp, how the magazine is sitting, space of the stock around the magazine ect ect ect.

start with the magazine.
