I know you're all dying to know how this combo looks.

Why this combo?
The tactical has no front sight and comes with a muzzle flash.
the T-22 stock is all aluminium and has built in pop-up sights. And just looks different than the SR-22.

Also this is my first pistol grip rifle. If I decide I don't like it, she goes back into the factory stock, and the aftermarket ends up on EE :)

Some reviews talk about the T-22 being a tight fight, scratching the 10/22 receiver. I had no such problems.

10/22 came from local shop. T-22 stock came from Calgary Shooting Edge.

I see what you all are saying. But it doesn't bother me, since I can't see the gap from on top ;)

Also, I believe its a standard AR type grip, so a better fit may be available somewhere. Haven't looked into that yet.

Just get the piece from an SR-22 to fill the gap and you are GTG. SnapShots(? Ruger repair depot) in Montreal has them I believe. That's where I got mine from.

I have the same set up. Didn't get tactical model 10/22 though as I am planning on putting a bull barrel on (eventually). I bought the cheapest 10/22 I could find. Although the Troy iron sights are quite good I did put a Redfield scope on it (which is VERY good value for money). I think the iron sights are good enough to use in combo with an aimpoint though. I also haven't filled the gap but plan too.. and mod trigger, extractor, etc. While I wasn't completely satisfied with the gap filler finish in the you tube video I admit it does look better. So far all I have done is added squid grips and a bottom rail for a bipod.

Here is my setup...

Huntactical what mag do you have there? I'm looking into a Troy setup as well but I didn't know you could use the Nomad type of mag on them. TC

They are BattleDyne mags. I bought three of them from Hi-Cal. Of the three, only one of them routinely avoided FTF issues, and I tried a LOT of different ammo. A number of people complained about them on this forum, including myself. Hi-Cal assured everyone they could return if they wanted... so a nod to good customer service there. Taking into account shipping costs I decided to keep them and try to fix the other two. Its like the feeding ramp isn't the right angle. I haven't had time yet but plan on getting the files out at some point. The one pictured feeds flawlessly, as do the Butler-Creek and stock box mags I also have. I like the look of the BattleDyne compared to the Butler-Creek.

The Troy setup is pretty sweet. Clean lines and a tight fit. At the beginning I had some trouble with the upper getting loose and starting to slide apart while shooting but some loc-tite and a bit more torque with the tightening took care of that issue. The flip up sights are also nice quality. Dollar value I figured I was at least a hundred ahead of an SR-22, not to mention that they are next to impossible to find.

There are some reviews on the BattleDyne here...
