As far i am concern this TD 10-22 shoot as good as my 3 others, guess could be hit or miss, i feel bad for those having issues with their 10-22, never had a bad one but i have to say that nothing come close to my Papoose's, those are overall the best RF semi rifles, i own... JP.

The stock sights are on the barrel, so holding zero after re-assembly should be expected. It's one of the reasons I love this TD. I'd be interested to see how well it would hold zero for a receiver mounted optic.
Do they come in durable, no-maintenance stainless steel with synthetic stock? No? Didn't think so. For a SHTF/survival rifle, the stock SS 10/22 TD is hard to beat -- at any price.
We won't even mention the aftermarket stuff for them.
OP never mentioned that he wanted a SHTF survival gun, at least not on his first post.
In any case, reliability would be more usefull than shiny stock and barrel.
Very cool, thanks Bigfooter. Good to know that the breakdown/reassemble didn't effect the accuracy at 50 yards and it was pretty much the same as the 10/22 Sporter. Good comparison against that Savage Mark II - that thing is scary accurate compared to the 10/22's
Yep, she's still finicky. Had it out yesterday, only fired about 50 rounds, with 3 stovepipes. All on the 9nth round weirdly enough. Got say though, the gun is starting to grow on me. I'm probably gonna end up picking up a titanium extractor from somewhere, and see how that does.

Run 2 boxes of stingers through it,give it a cleaning and see if that breaks it in any.

Note: That was using THREE different Takedowns as he has one, his wife has one and his daughter has one -- the last being the "blue" USA Shooting Sports model. No problems (so far) with any of them.

I take my TD with me almost everywhere I go, it has been an excellent rifle. I shoot bulk ammo through it and have had zero issues accompanied by great accuracy.
I keep 3 separate "vacuum sealed" bags of ammo in the upper pocket, keeps them dry and moisture free, plus another zip-lock bag with ammo that is commonly used.
Because this gun comes and goes with me in my truck on a daily basis, I found a way to keep the ammo locked too, just in case I run in to a LEO who will try to bust my balls over the vague ammo transportation laws. I simply use my cheap Samsonite lock and pull the zipper from the top pocket (that holds the ammo) over to the case zippers.
Certainly isn't my "best" gun, but it is one I can count on every single time.

I often consider putting a "Nikon" patch over the red Ruger stitching, but something in the back of my head seems to remember that having legal repercussions.
It is a very harmless looking bag, without that "Ruger" stitching the gun can carried anywhere without freaking out the anti's.

I did this too. You have to look pretty hard to see it. Works great(I just got it back from quebec with a new barrel)

Its too bad about those misfeeds. That just isn't right. I've had numerous 10/22 and they always fed all ammo flawlessly when using.the factory mags. I would consider having it shipped off for waranty work. I would guess they'd probably replace the barrel and the bolt assembly right away. Might even get new gun.
