I went into Wholesale sports (Edmonton North) yesterday to pick up some .22 ammo and saw a Ruger 10-22 Takedown model on display. It turns out they got 8 of them yesterday morning. I had a look at it and it seems to be very well designed and has adjustment for the barrel/receiver fit so it can be kept tight when wear occurs. While I was looking at the display model with one sales guy, 2 of them were sold by other sales reps. I couldn't help myself, I had to buy one. I took it out to the range yesterday afternoon and put a couple of boxes of ammo through it. It cycles perfectly and is very accurate with the nice open sights. I already have a Remington 597 and 552 that I love but this might be my new favorite .22 semi. I ride my dual-sport bike into the backwoods alot in summer and this will be a great little gun to take along on those rides.

I'm soooooo drooling right now, oh and i'm so jealous of you right now that i hate you.. LoL JK..... None around my parts yet, but the first one i see.. YOINK! And in my collection! Looks wicked.. I've been watching review after review of the 10/22 TD and everyone is amazed with it's design, form, and function.

Took mine out for rabbits on the dirtbike today. I put a 2-6x28 compact on it and it still fits in its case. Swapped the trigger group out for a dlask one and its working good. I like the backpack idea. Nobody knows what it is. I could leave a clear tube out of it over my shoulder and its a camel back. Really handy rifle.

Just started my collection less than a year ago, it was time to add a .22. To stick with synthetic theme of my collection so far, i decided on standard stainless/synthetic model. Went to my LGS, cause wholesale in Langley never has anything in stock. So long story short i was out the with door a takedown with $70 a 3x9x32(i think) an extra 25 rd clip and lots of ammo for around 550
mounted and bore sighted, took it out that night and put a box of ammo threw it, still getting used to the bolt release, but i love it! planing to take it out on the boat on Monday.

Take a look at your rear sight. Is it dovetailed in at 90 degrees to the barrel? Of the few that were available here in Vancouver all had the rear sight slightly skewed. Shouldn't affect marksmanship but still.....

Just checked mine I got from P-D the other day, looks fine to my eyes? How obvious was the skewing you noticed?

I didn't notice that until you mentioned it but you are right. It is skewed from square by at least a couple of degrees. Hard to get a decent picture but this one shows it the best. Looks like they made the groove 90 degrees to the left side of the barrel. I sent an email to Ruger asking what can be done. I don't want to send it for repair and be without the gun for the summer.

I'd hate to be without my 10/22 for the summer as well. I doubt that it can be "repaired".
Keep us posted as to what Ruger's reply is.
