Hey guys, I have an update, but its not regarding the quality issues and warranty, instead I decided to do another range visit and retest the rifle after a good cleaning and see what I really have here.
Anyways here is the results with a few different ammo types all shot at 50 yards (almost all are 10 round groups):
Federal Champion 40gr LRN
CCI Mini Mag 36gr CPHP
CCI Mini Mag 40gr CPRN
CCI Subsonic 40gr LHP
CCI Stinger 32gr CPHP
Blazer 40gr LRN
Winchester Xpert HV 36gr LHP
First off I'll say I am no expert marksman, I'd rate my shooting skills to average/below average. Also I shot all these resting on the included carry bag, and didn't take a lot of time doing this, so perfection was not my goal. I would consider these shots representative of "real life" shooting.
Here are my observations:
I like the performance of both Mini Mag rounds, the HP would be a good varmint/gopher round IMO and the round nose a good target/accuracy round.
Blazers will be my go to target/plinking round, good groups IMO.
CCI Subsonics have great accuracy (some fliers in that group), and love the sound reduction, will use these if sound reduction is a concern, fun round to shoot.
CCI Stingers... disappointing, inconsistent, and sporatic, never know what to get with these, but they definately hit the hardest, not sure what to do with these yet.
Winchester Xpert HV... crap, suck, can't wait to burn through the rest, cycle terribly in high cap mags ( Think they cycled okay with factory 10rders), sucked bad in my sr22 also, stay away
Federal Champions... sucked less than the winchesters, cycle reliably, but average performance.
So now I ask you people, seeing the results I'm getting, should I even send this rifle back? I hate that the chamber face looks like crap, but doesnt seem to be having an effect on reliability or accuracy. Also do you think I could safely polish that end myself without affecting anything?
