My apologies if this has been discussed ad nauseum.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with trigger and/or hammer kits because I would like to lighten and soften the trigger pull. Any recommendations?

Stick with Volquartsen or Power Custom.

Both offer dramatic improvements over the factory setup.

Head over to CRAFM if you want to purchase either of them. I built their rental target 10/22 with a Volquartsen hammer if you want to feel the difference.

That's interesting! I was actually thinking of heading up to CRAFM sometime in the next two weeks to purchase a few things. Might as well add the Volqs stuff to my list.

Should I simply get the hammer? What do you think?

Check the prices at Rimfiresports and Hawktech before you pluck down your money at CRAFM.....they ship free from the US and in my experience Canadian shops are usually close to double the price for these things.

I have a Kidd trigger on my 10/22. I love it, but it's pricey. And far too good considering that my 10/22 has a customized first generation krinker Plinker kit with a regular 8in barrel.

The Kidd replaced a Volquartzen trigger which is sitting in a drawer gathering dust. PM me if you're interested in getting it cheap.

Don't waste your money on any of that stuff. If you are even slightly "handy" you can do all the work yourself on the stock components and come out with a better, way cheaper trigger. Adjustable hammer and sear, polished etc. for next to nothing. You need a drill or better drill press, taps, abrasives and a propane torch. PM me for the instructions if you want them and get to work! And the nice thing is if you screw it up you can still buy the aftermarket stuff and put it in. Oh yeah, I forgot torsion trigger return spring also.

I'm not the most mechanically inclined, nor is my dexterity and equipment sufficient for the work you're describing. :D
