Hi guys.
Just looking for some recommendations on after market or just better triggers in general for the 10/22. My wife has a takedown model and I was trying to bang some gophers the other day and it was brutal. Creep, creep, stop, pull harder, bang. I thought the safety was on at one point.

I guess I'm to used to my CZ and Canjar set triggers but I hate bad triggers!

Also best place to buy.

TIA

Steve

Ruger bx trigger pack is cheapest, and is an upgrade
Hical sells a trigger kit i think its called “power sports parts” or something like that, 150$ or so and its good.
Theres kidd and Volquartzen kits which are pricy but have top notch performance.
And there is the option to send your trigger in to brimstone manufacturing in the US and they will upgrade it (3 different tiers) and the top tier they offer is absolutely the BEST thing available.

Or if your confident enough you can really make your factory trigger much much smoother and probably eliminate all the creep with some sandpaper/polishing stones and maybe 45 minutes of effort. Youtube.

10/22 triggers are gross. luckily many youtube tutorials, parts are cheap if you mess up. i did mine its now a nice trigger. might consider a BX or a Volquartsen in the future, but for now. this works.

I put a BX trigger in my 10/22 I set up for Mapleseed. If possible try it in the store to see which one is best as they’re not all the same. I wouldn’t really spend $300+ on a high end 10/22 trigger unless it was in a high end accuracy focused build but to each their own.

Pretty well have tried them all. Best value for money(my opinion) is the Kidd kit. I’ve got 10 thumbs but following the *ou-tube videos it was pretty easy

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll have a look at it tomorrow if I have time. I'm reasonably handy with that kind of stuff so maybe I can tune it a bit myself. Will look at some of the options but not in it to make precision target piece just something that doesn't creep, creep creep and then require 8 lbs to get it over the hump. I've been too spoiled by Canjars and Timneys over the years.

OP. I’m In the same boat as you. I decided to do the auto bolt release and ended up taking apart my trigger last night. Follow the brimstone video on YouTube. I also flattened the other side of the sear, the lip edge (another diy 10/22 YouTube video). I did the lip edge a lot lighter than what they showed on YouTube because my trigger wasn’t horrible to begin with however I notice a huge difference in creep reduction.... my trigger is decent now and there’s no rush to send it in to Brimstone.

Hope this helps and good luck

I bought a SR-22 when they first came out, the gun is a gopher killing machine after I changed the extractor, buffer and trigger. Worst out of the box trigger I think I have ever seen. Felt like 4 miles of creep and 10 lbs. All of my other guns (Sakos, Tikkas, CZs, custom Rems,) have either aftermarket or re-worked triggers runnning 1 to 2 lbs,so I took to hating that ruger trigger.Put a BX trigger in and it was a big improvement over the original but still a long way from what I would call nice. Sent it to Brimstone for a Tier one (1 lb.) upgrade and have high hopes that this will be the answer, we will see.

70$ trigger job from Dlask. Great 2-ish stages trigger. Awesome value. You have to send your complete trigger.

Second best value trigger is the Brimstone. You also have to send your trigger assembly.
I have a Tier 1 on my takedown and this trigger is awesome.

If you need better, then go Volkartsen and the pinacle is Kidd as well.

That’s my personal opinion as well.

X2 on in store test . I just had mine out with the new BX I put in it and it was great . Isn’t realize how yucky the original had been until now .

I have a custom DAR22 with a volquartsen and a VLEH with the BX trigger. I find the BX is nicer. I can throw 10 rounds more accurate and faster with it.

I tried getting a stock trigger down to 3 pounds. The success was short lived.
I was warned about testing with a full mag so used two rounds. Double tap!
Dismantled that idea and bought a Timney from Mystic.
Then for the other 10/22 used a Kidd kit.
Both are around three pounds.
