Ruger 10-22 upgrades

So here's what I've upgraded and I'm wondering at what point do I stop and purchase a tikka?

BX trigger
Magpul stock
Extended mag release
Kidd extractor

Before I go any further should I upgrade the barrel or use that cash towards a Tika T1X or is there anything else I should upgrade?
 
I hate to be "that guy". But if you wanted a bolt action...you should have started with a bolt action.

Now back to the 10/22. If you want to improve your accuracy, get a Dlask Barrel. I got two of them, very well made and accurate when running the good stuff. And if you haven't already done so, do you receiver a favor and get a soft buffer.

It was my first gun so I had little knowledge, now I have a little more knowledge lol

You're pretty much there. Get a green mountain sporter barrel from bits of pieces for around 200ish, add a pressure point to the barrel and the 10/22 will be pretty close to its full potential. If you're not happy with that level, your next stop should be a bolt action like the cz452.

Definitely a new barrel. Happy to help with match barrels that will let you reach WAY out there with accuracy.

This was put together for a team mate for this seasons rimfire PRS matches. We will be shooting out to 400yds. Accuracy between my 10/22 and bolt is not far apart.

Sporter contours and various lengths are all possible as each is custom made to order.

pm or email. I have both bolt and semi rifles.. love them both. When chasing targets, it is always fun to get multiple accurate follow up shots downrange before your friend can cycle his bolt :)

No worries. My first and second gun are both 10/22's. The good news is that if you ever decided that semi-auto is not your thing, 10/22's and it's aftermarket parts go quick on the used market. If you're into a bit of DIY, you can file/dremel out the bolt catch for an auto bolt release.
 
Do the right thing. Keep the 10/22 and rebuild it whenever you want a change. Buy a good bolt gun for the best accuracy. Enjoy both. I'm patiently waiting for the 10/22 Bravo to make it's way to Canada for my next version of my 10/22. Mine is a 1989 model with mostly original internals that have been slowly reworked over the years. It runs like a sewing machine with anything from std velocity to hyper velocity. I still have to do a few mods to the trigger. The creep is very short and pull weight very light but it still has the factory take up and overtravel to fix. The Dlask 16.5" bbl shoots great and balances the rifle perfectly with iron sights. I'll see how that changes with the new Bravo chassis. And that's the great thing about the 10/22. You aren't stuck with a couple cheap accessories from the low end stock and accessory makers. The sky is the limit. And accuracy is not limited to what a factory Ruger barreled action can do. A friend of mine built a DAC with a Kidd CF bbl and a Kidd trigger. That trigger is AMAZING. The rifle outshoots mine by a large margin and doesn't need expensive ammo to do it. With a good match round that it likes it will be a very competitive rifle. A far cry from an out of the box 10/22 but it goes to show they can be made to shoot. Or they can be dressed up for fun. And changed constantly. They're the builders semi .22.
