ruger 10/22

thinking of buying a ruger 10/22 and as I like a light trigger was wondering if it is possible and is it expensive to lighten trigger pull to 1.5 lbs thanks in advance

1.5# trigger may not be possible, but a 2.25-2.5# trigger is using Volquartsen parts.

A 1.5 pound trigger on a hunting rifle will be unsafe. I doubt any reputable smithy would go that low. Epp's smithy trigger work starts at $45.

I used to do 10-22 trigger jobs. I didn't find the aftermarket parts did that good a job... not that crisp, not that light... I worked triggers down to a quite crisp 2 pounds. I charged $80 and it was worth all of that to me... I don't do them any more.

op never said it was a hunting rifle, just said a 10/22....
