Hi all, I figure this is the place to come and ask questions. As a Christmas gift, from my girlfriend, we bought a 10/22. I took it to the range today and it won’t go bang. Any ideas would be super helpful.

After a while some girlfriends won't go "bang" anymore. If I could help you out with a solution, I wouldn't have free time to be posting here. Good luck!

Quoted for truth. Wives apparently suffer from the same issue.

OP: My 10/22 needs to be dry and lubed with graphite to run in the cold properly. Could be your issue. YouTube has lots of disassembly and cleaning videos of 10/22s. Maybe start there.

A lot more information needed?? Is it feeding properly? Is the firing pin striking the rim? Did you try different ammo? Etc. etc.

It is feeding properly, when I pull the bolt back, it will eject the round. Let the bolt go, a new round goes into the chamber. Every round, same thing. I pull the bolt back, round ejects and so on.

Just to be sure, you are pulling the trigger every time? Is the firing pin denting the round? If you #### it empty and pull the trigger does it go click?

Safety? Do they have a safety? LOL

First . . . did you read the instructions . . . it's a guy thing!

When a 10/22 is a first gun, numerous reads on the internet.

The disassembly and the re-assembly are not for the inexperienced.

Where do you shoot? Could offer some help depending on where you are a member.

It doesn’t go click when I pull the trigger and it isn’t denting the round.

Taking mine apart, I discovered the safety can rotate out of position, everything comes to a halt, the poly trigger housing probably doesn't help. Had to take pliers and rotate it so the flat spot is up.

Questions about the Safety are not humour - it may be stuck, like with frigid 'grease'. Out of the box, the first thing to do is take it apart (youtube vid if needed) and clean it. It may be 'out of position' as Grizz suggested.
Step-2 - - Call a friend.

Step 3- buy a Ruger BX-Trigger. And now have a project gun. it now goes bang.
