Ruger 22 45 firing pin problem

On my Ruger mark 2 22/45 the firing pin does not always seem to ####. The rounds load and eject fine, but every mag shot has at least 1 cycle where after the old cartrige is ejected and the new one is loaded you pull the trigger and nothing not even a click, the firing pin does not always ####, ( not a miss fire, no rim dent) I have had the pin apart and cleaned it well but still no better, I have not taken the trigger apart yet, not sure really sure what to look for, or what to do?

perhaps the problem is with the hammer/sear? and not the fireing pin--if there is no click then the hammer is not cocked or the sear is not releasing the hammer.
