Seems like Ruger is on a roll for trying to pump out a new product every month.

Here's their latest 22/45 RP in 4.4" threaded barrel at just 22.8 ounces.

Everything about it is Canadian friendly...just don't know about the threaded issues these days with exporting to Canada...

A nice review from Jeff.

Anyone actually seen a threaded barrel 22/45 in canada? I inquired earlier in the year when this one came out. I was told it would not be allowed into the country because of the evil threaded barrel.

They'll be allowed into this country, the US just won't let it out of their's. Kinda like Germany and semi-auto G36s or MP7s

Threaded barrels are perfectly legal in Canada. Flash hiders and muzzle breaks are legal as well. Just not "any device to muffle or stop the sound of a firearm" aka suppressors.

These look awesome.

No problem about the threaded muzzle. Their first shipment is already in Canada (has cleared Customs) and will likely be distributed to "distributors" and dealers next week.

How do I know?
I had a 22/45 Mark III 6 7/8" Stainless Steel Hunter and for a full year I shot with a canted rear-sight. I'm kind of a noob so it HAD to be me not the gun. I got Williams sights; same result. Something did not feel right. Finally I stood it on a flat surface resting on the very slim, tall triangle forme by front sight as Apex and the rear-sights as the two other points of the triangle. I then placed a square right next to it and it was clear that the gun was canting to the right (when looked at from behind ..... shooter's side).
Luckily something broke and the bolt could not be removed (the slide could not be opened).
I sent it in with a photo of the gun on it's back and the square.
A few months later, their gunsmith admitted that the rear-sights dovetail groove had been machined wrong.

And, since they had stopped producing the Stainless Steel 22/45 Mark III, I had my pick of a regular, blued 22/45 Mark III or the 22/45 Lite.

That's how I know that mine is somewhere in Canada now. Ruger have been very good at following up and keeping me informed of the gun's wanderings.

YAY... Search worked!

22/45 LITE as soon as they are available! I can hardly wait. I was pumped and waiting for the SP101, this is now taking its place.

I'm so confused........

I want a .22 handgun for my wife and I. First I was thinking a normal MkIII22/45. Then it was the SP101 revolver. Then the 22/45 Lite. Then it was the Single 10. Now on top of those choices there is the M&P22 to think of. Soooo many choices for a .22 plinker.

Not for me, thanks. I'll stay with the steel receiver.
The only thing is that I am afraid of
is that these things will completely replace the steel receiver guns.
