Ruger 22/45 lite

Picked it up today and only briefly handled it.
Weight? What weight... it is extremely light.

Looks very well made from initial observation.
No blemishes (Anodizing was perfect as far as I could tell).

The rear sight was relatively centered.
All digits/characters also looked to be laser-engraved (not stamped) which really adds to high quality feel/look.

It costs a lot compared to the regular 22/45's, but it also looks fantastic and again, the weight (or lack off) is mind-boggling.

* Again, it was a quick fondling from the box, to gun case, then safe at home. I am going from memory right now :) *

I have a Mk. II 22/45 and it is a fine pistol, however I think the lightweight needs to be chained up when not in hand lest it ugly away and hide.

Good to hear. It has the gold coloured barrel, threaded? and where did you source it from?

Curious if anyone has one, where they got it, and what they think of it?

Received mine from Epps today. Haven't had much time to handle it yet so I cannot comment on the mechanics however I am certain it behaves like all other 22/45s, which in my opinion is top notch.

Typical 22/45 quality. Great fit and finish, barrel color and slash cuts give it a striking look. Although basically useless in Canada, the threaded barrel is a nice option should you wish to dress it up a bit with a 1" dia muzzle brake. What is most impressive is the weight, or lack thereof. I held the lite and my 22/45 target at the same time and the difference is appreciable.

First impression without firing shot.....likely my new fav .22 handgun. For the price and performance and you can't go wrong with a MkIII 22/45....Lite or not.

Yes... but the gold is not as offensive as I thought it'd be. Under different light it sometimes looks almost-silver, sometimes dark earth. I like it.

I got it from Reliable, but Epps has the better price.

Last night stripped it down, removed the lock, removed the LCI, red-loctite'd the front sight and am waiting for the mag-safety removal bushing. I also had a Volq extractor lying around so I installed it just 'cause.

Remembered how much I hate the mag-safety last night.

My specimen has a superman-tight fit to frame. Rubber mallet required.

That's all for now.... will post when VZ grips arrive ;)

Hoping to get some range time this weekend.

The only con I could find (and it is minor, most wouldn't notice) is that the milled recess for the extractor is perhaps a little too deep. Not the worst I've had, but not the best either.
The worst was on a 10/22 years ago... the ejector actually started bending the chamber wall inwards because the steel was so thin in that spot.
Thankfully I slammed the bold home at least a hundred times last night and from what I could tell it wasn't that bad as the razor-thin steel still looked straight.

The gun is SUPER light, love it. It also looks almost light sliver under light...not goddy at all

Just watched a few video reviews on the 22/45 Lite, and I have to say it looks great. I have a 22/45 Target and it does get a little heavy.

I wonder how the 22/45 Lite compares to the Tactical Solutions Pac Lite barrel on a 22/45 frame.

Anybody got an opinion? I'm sort of on the fence, there's pros and cons to both options.

Anyone know where we can get compensators for the lite? I'm liking the maddmac compensators:

anyone know of a canadian supplier for these?

Picked up one today at PGT. Extremely light, gave it a quick clean and ran 50 through it and it functioned flawlessly. Mind you it was only a box of shells but i do like the feel and weight of this gun so far! Magazines were the only weak spot (ejecting) but youtube has the fix for it. So in short, so far so good!
