Ruger 22/45 MKIII 4.5" vs. 5.5" ?

I'm about to buy my first pistol and I've narrowed it down to the Ruger 22/45 MKIII in either the 4.5" or the 5.5". Why should I pick one over the other?

The Wholesale Sports here has the 4.5" in stock and when I asked them about it on Saturday they said they would try to get a 5.5" in for me to take a look at if I wanted.
 
Would the improvement in accuracy going with the 5.5" be basically negligible?

Would the 4.5" be more limited in the types of sights or scopes that could be added? I haven't looked into it yet, but I've noticed a few people on here using small scopes on their pistols.
 
The 4.5" model has fixed sights and IS NOT drilled and tapped for scope base.

The 5.5" model has adjustable sights and is drilled and tapped with scope base included.

I've had both models in the past. The 4.5" is a fun lil gun. The 5.5" model is much more accurate due to the adjustable sights and the option to mount a small optic is bonus. Either model, you're going to have a blast. :D

I have a MkII standard with the 5.5" bull. Wanted a MkIII 22/45 for the grip angle similar to the 1911. Was going to go for the 5.5" bull barrel version but ordered the 4.5" slab-side fixed site one by mistake. By the time I realized what I had done (next day) and called the dealer [WS] it had already been shipped out. Got it by the end of that week & was so impressed I decided to just keep it. Maybe will add the 5.5" version down the road so I can take advantage of the rail & add an optical site but for now I'm happy with what I've got.
