Years ago at Epps closing I bought about 25 boxes of Imperial IVI 240 grain jacketed ammo, it shot great, killed lots of deer, and my Grandkids are now killing deer with two old Ruger 44 mag carbines. They group a big 4 inches at 100 yds.

I looked up the data for my reloads:
240 Gr. JHP (Win)
20.5 grs Herc/Alliant 2400
Fed Mag Primers (no reason for mag primers - just what I had at the time)
AOL: 1.60
I guess that it's doing around 1300 FPS (10" barrel, so higher in a rifle)
