So I screwed up. I took the bolt out of the Ruger 77/22 Hornet and turned the bolt shroud the wrong way, releasing the firing pin. I've watched a couple videos, and seems easy enough on other mauser type rifles with larger surfaces to work with, but the 77/22 doesn't offer much surface to grip with any kind of cord. Tried it with a couple different size cords, and not enough area to grip. How do I recock it out of the rifle?

That's an easy fix... sharp edge of a work bench or pliers... parallel grip pliers are the easiest or smooth jaw Vice Grips.

Thanks guys. Tried the lasso approach, but couldn't get enough 'bite' on the cocking surface to pull it, even a with thin cord. Just after I posted, I tried a sharp edge and got it.
