Friend has a Ruger 77/22 .22, that takes a rotary mag. He's looking for some spares.
I have a 1022 .22 that also takes the rotary mag. I do not own a 77/22
Some sites say that they take the mag???
If someone has both rifles... is this true, they're the same?

I don't think so. they would probably mention it on the savage web site if it did. the winchester wildcat 22 lr uses the same mags as a 10/22. the savage mags look a lot wider in the pic.

I don't know what a ruger 10/77 is? Maybe there is such a thing but I haven't ever come across one.

I have a ruger 77/22 made in about 1985 that uses the same rotary magazine as the 10/22.

I am with jethunter - if there is such a thing as Ruger 1077, I have not seen one. I recently sold a Ruger 77 in 22 Magnum and a Ruger 96 in 22 magnum - they both took the same 9 round magazines, but are different than the 10 round ones used in my Ruger 10-22. Years ago, I owned a Ruger 77 in 22 LR - that one used the same 10-shot rotary magazines as did the 10-22.

Google tells me that Crosman sells a CO2 powered 1077 air rifle, and that a German company makes another CO2 powered air rifle that is called the Ruger 10/22. Both apparently use magazines - but neither fire 22 Long Rifle cartridges.

In case it hasn't been made clear you can use 10/22 mags in a 77/22 but they don't fit flush with the stock so look a touch odd, they both function equally well.
