Ruger 77/30-30

It sounds like a fantastic low recoil option comfortable to shoot. I think it has tough competition though because there are levers that would retail at a similar price and while a bolt actikn will be more accurate, most buy the 30-30 with the expectation of short range amd where pinpoint accuracy isnt top priority.
I’d love one like you described though.

Used Savage 340s are like $400-$500. Used win94s are like $1000-1200. Meanwhile a new Ruger 77/44 is $1500+. And there's like a thousand options for 308win that are cheaper.

I'm sure there's a small group of people who love the 30-30 and would be interested, but man that's going to be a small niche. I would be interested in a cheap 30-30, but not anything that costs more than a decent condition used win94 or Marlin336.

I have a rather uncommon bolt action 30-30. Rem788! Paid a "good" buck for it back in the late 90's. Was the go to rifle at that time for Cast Bullet Assoc. postal matches. An accurate rifle with the right bullet and load. Most 788's (no matter what caliber) tend to be accurate. They will not win any beauty contests though.
