anyone have anything to say about the ruger bolt rifles in the handgun magnum carts? i imagine the 357 would be a great crow/magpie shooter!

i have one in 44 magnum. it is soo light (5.5 pounds), accurate, all steel construction, and looks amazing. its one of the best quality rifles in my safe. with the right bullet the 357 would take a deer. but the 44 mag can take anythink you want. if your looking for a hunting rifle 44 mag is the way to go, but if your looking for a plinking rifle 357 is way cheaper.

Either one of these rifles would be suitable for the hunters who confine
their shots at big game to under 100 yds. IE: Tree stand or close stalking.
The .357 would be a howl to use on crows, magpies and gophers.
I sold my .44 Ruger only because I don't like the look of black plastic on
a hunting rifle. Ruger should bring back the laminate stock version.
;)

I recently purchased one chambered in .357 mag.

These guns a fun to shoot, are great for carry, enough cartridge for my needs with plinking, target shooting & hunting game up to deer sized animals, & all without that shoulder punishing recoil of some of those rifle calibre guns.
I did have one of those short barreled winchester rifles in the fantastic .44 mag, but found it hard on the shoulder with the heavy loads. Having had shoulder surgery, makes one recoil sensitive & had to wear a pad anytime I fired it.

Lots of folks think they are cost prohibitive compared to other rifles in a more powerfull cartridge, but if they ever shoot one of these sweet little rifles, I think for what they are capable of, they may come away with a different view....
I saved some of my "Tim Hortons" coffee money to buy this one, & it worked out great.
As with other centrefire cartridges if one reloads their own ammo, these guns really shine.

My only delema with this rifle is whether I like it better than my Marlin 1894c....:jerkit:

Sure wish Ruger would make the same rifle in a .32 H&R mag/327 chambering. As for the .44 mag, I might have to dig out that shoulder pad...

Take care folks!

Don't mean to hijack this thread but does anyone know if the 77/357 will feed empty 38spl cases? I ask because my 38spl supply consists of 148gr wadcutters and I'd like a rifle that would also shoot these.

Call me old fashion... But I think they look better with a walnut stock.

there she is, that's my baby! I recently bought the walnut/blued in 44mag at an auction sale, in as new condition, yes I way over paid for her, but I have no regrets, I love her to death. would love a 357 in the same dress! My God, they are sooooooo purdy!

Who carried the 77/.357 ? I've been looking for one for some time and I'm not having much luck locating one.
