Is it possible to rechamber to the 445 supermag? It seems like the barrel has enough meat for the reamer. I know the magazine won't be big enough to accomodate the new shell but single shot is just fine since I can still load it up with regular 44mag shells if needed. Hunting bear or moose it would be nice to hit them with the first shot being the 445 supermag and then the 44mag if needed for a follow up shot.

:)

The .445 Supermag. is usually loaded to 50k+ pressures like the .454 Casull, I would not subject that action to those pressures, I don't know much about that action but I believe that the cartridges it is/was chambered for generate about 40K psi.

Windage...don't take my word as gospel( no one does anyway) on this one, I have no experience with that Ruger action...I just wanted to point out the pressure levels of the two cartridges as they are commonly loaded.....Ben
Remember most .22 long rifles are bolt action as well.
