Hey I am looking for some help replacing a laminate stock on my left hand Ruger 77 MKII.
Its chambered in 338wm and I have a crack along the top/back of the gun right where the bolt enters the receiver. On the tang I guess you would call it.
I would like to replace this stock with a synthetic stock preferably but I cant seem to find one anywhere.
I can find right hand models but not left hand.
Does anyone know where a guy could source one?
Thanks in advance

What every you end up getting make sure that theres a tiny bit of room between the tang and the stock when assembled or you will just end up cracking the new stock

Shoot I had my heart set on a synthetic.
This is a guide rifle for me and it gets abused.
I will look into the boyds option I guess. Probably cheaper to buy a boyds than refinish and repair my stock one.

I'd have it fixed and properly bedded ......... Problem easily solved.

My mkii Hawkeye cracked between the Trigger an magazine well, So i did the pin an glue trick.... the rifle needs bedding...but it hasnt cracked since.

ya dont wanna know what i used but if ya use stuff above CGNers mention it will hold for a good while..... tang might be interesting though.

mines .35 whelen.

originally i wanted to swap for a synthetic stock, but it never happened, an only see the odd Factory stock for sale now an then......

I did purchase a RAMLINE synthetic...... bit of a pos. but i didnt relieve it , so one shot an it chipped some off at the side of the where the tang area is/ not a big deal to me but if it were a nice stock id be spewin lol.

the only good thing bout the ramline, was its cheap, its pretty tough, an it doesnt mind abuse.
mines sittin in the corner of the room at moment tho
