Ruger 77 RSI calibers?

The three position MKII RSI's go for $1000+... $900+"ish" for an excellent tang RSI... but occasionally you run into a deal... I wouldn't count on it for the rarer versions though...

I vastly prefer the new CRF MKII 3-Position safety M77's to the Tang versions... but from online posts it would seem that I am in the minority.

I prefer the new 3-position safety versions too.

I recently saw an unfired tang safety RSI in .243 for $950, and I know of a NIB RSI in Doug's favourite chambering - .270 Win - for the same price.

Seems like I've been out of the 77 game far too long.

I had one in .270 once and it just seemed a bit club-like to me. I prefer a more "dainty" style, especially in full stock rifles. Maybe it was due to the long action. A fellow I know has one in .250 Savage and it seemed much nicer.

I agree, had one in 308 (Tang Safe) and one in 270 (Mk ll). Sold them both off and got into Mannlicher Schoenauers, Steyrs etc...

Apparently Jerry's Sports Center had Ruger do a limited run of 77 RSI in .358 Win. in the late '80's.

A fellow could email them to find out how many were made.

I was pondering a rebore and gain twist from a 308 to 358 but then I remembered how whispy the barrels are on them RSIs and I doubt Ron would do a rebore so a rebarrel it will have to be...........when I get a couple spare hours!!!!

According to 24hr Campfire the rebore on the .308 is not possible.
