It's not so much that I want a rifle in those calibers as I already have several.
I think it is more like what calibers you don't you have. You are creating them now.

Early tang safe model? $550-$700.I've always loved the look of these rifles. What would you guys say is a reasonable price for one in say .308 in good to excellent condition?

The three position MKII RSI's go for $1000+... $900+"ish" for an excellent tang RSI... but occasionally you run into a deal...
I wouldn't count on it for the rarer versions though... I vastly prefer the new CRF MKII 3-Position safety M77's to the Tang versions...
but from online posts it would seem that I am in the minority.
Seems like I've been out of the 77 game far too long.
I had one in .270 once and it just seemed a bit club-like to me. I prefer a more "dainty" style, especially in full stock rifles. Maybe it was due to the long action. A fellow I know has one in .250 Savage and it seemed much nicer.
I was pondering a rebore and gain twist from a 308 to 358 but then I remembered how whispy the barrels are on them RSIs and I doubt Ron would do a rebore so a rebarrel it will have to be...........when I get a couple spare hours!!!!
What is RSI... ?
Cool, now all I have to do is find one...........I was really hoping for a 7-08 and maybe a 260...........No? Any hope of a 358?
