I did a search but could not find the correct info.
Anybody know the barrel shank dimensions for a ruger 77, OD, thread pitch & length?
I would appreciate the help.

They are about 1 inch x 16... I don't have one here right now... I figure the length by using the actual action for measurement.

ruger

i only happen to have th edimensions for a ruger #1 not sure if they are the same but here goes outer dia is 1" 16 tpi 60 degree breech face to thread start is.160 and length to shoulder is .850 again maybe someone can verify as this is for a ruger #1 so not sure about 77
best to measure depth of receiver face to bolt lugs not bolt face with depth micrometer and use as guage for length of shank

Yes, they are nominally 1" diameter x 16 tpi. I prefer to cut the threads and set the shank length to fit the action.

Hey, 7018.....what are you rebarreling it from and to? Trying for more accuracy or going to a hybrid caliber? Just nosey. Labrador.....was there last June for a drive over from Newfoundland....foggy but I can say I was there. I am a Ruger fan myself. Dave
