Hey guys. I'm hoping to get an idea of the value of this rifle. I bought it new in the early 1990's and I put one box of ammo through it after getting it and it's been unused since then, so I'm thinking about selling it. It has true controlled round feeding. Calibre is the old workhorse .30-06.
It has factory sights but at the time I bought it I liked receiver sights (and still do) so had it drilled and tapped for a Williams Fool Proof which would be included with it.
Actual rifle:

This is what it would look like with the FP installed. This is on another rifle but it mounts exactly the same.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks all.

Edit: Right now I'm simply looking for an idea as to it's worth, which I believe has been answered thanks to the two that have responded.
I haven't made up my mind whether to sell it or not at this time. No rush, it doesn't mind where it is.:)

It would be worth more if you had not drilled it... too bad as there was no need... receiver peeps are made by a couple companies to fit the Ruger scope mount... drilled, you are probably looking at $600 shipped + $100 undrilled... that is if in excellent condition.

Thanks for the reply. I figured having it drilled would reduce the value somewhat. At the time there weren't any options that I can recall as far as receiver sights go. I don't think NECG made sights for the 77 in the early '90's, or any other manufacturer that I know of back then. These days, computers make finding things much easier;)

Drilled and wearing the canoe paddle stock are negatives. Stainless and low use are positives. MkII IMO are the best generation of the M77.

Hoyt is right there. IMO, with the sight drill holes filled with matching screws, as a bare rifle $600. If you had some stainless rings it would probably result in it selling quicker or for perhaps $50 more.

Some people actually collect the boat paddle Rugers. Personally it is like a Chevy Avalanche, some like it, most dont.

The holes have slotted stainless screws in them. I do have the original stainless rings as well. It's been put away for so long I've forgotten some things. Not to mention that my memory isn't improving as the years go by:)
Thanks for the input.

The rings do not increase the value, all Ruger rifles are assumed to come with rings... NOT having the rings decreases the value... You are looking at $600-$625 shipped as fair market value, in excellent condition WITH the rings... if you hadn't drilled it, I would have been interested in it myself.
