The rifle had so much going for it, and I liked it at first. But then I tried shooting it. Yes, it went bang each time, but it was not a quality arrangement. I'm not a competitive target shooter who is used to match-grade triggers and anal. Just compared to my old Cooey or a 9422, that trigger felt like it belonged on a cheap toy.
I bought a 94/22 when they first came out and sold it shortly after getting it. I dont remember the trigger but I am sure it sucked, what I do remember was that the lever action was so stiff that it would almost take 2 hands to cycle.
I would much prefer a Marln, Winchester or Browning over the Ruger 96/22.
