Ruger actions

I was under standing that ruger had made their own action and did not outsource it. Today a friend told me that ruger had purchased their actions from Mauser since they where a Mauser action. So what are the results ruger buys from Mauser or make their own

Had a guy I worked with try to tell me this back in the 70's. Wasn't true then, isn't true now. - dan

The 77 is a investment casting very chesp to make drop out of a mold . No one could make them cheaper than in house the only thing it has in common with a Mauser I'd s claw extractor nothing else

Reminds me of a guy I once hunted with who owned a Remington autoloader in 270. He thought that since it said 270 Winchester on the barrel, that meant the barrel was made by Winchester...

I met one fella who insisted that the 303 Savage and the 303 British were the same round , but were a Savage development . According to him , it was only called the 303 British when chambered in a Lee Enfield or Enfield action . I often wonder what ever happened to him , and if he ever found out his mistake the hard way ......... sorry for the derail .

That's enough internet for today. I cant believe there are people out there that 1. Believe that and 2. Think that. The firearms community is full of crayon eaters.

Not only does Ruger make their own investment cast actions rumour has it they produce the investment cast actions Nosler uses to build their rifles.

Ruger makes almost all the investment cast replacement hip and knee joints, too.

They do tons of stuff for tons of industries. If you told me they do the firearms stuff just for fun, as they don't need the money, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

They might be the best investment casters in the world.

we all now that they are really crap action ... just your writing put me on the need for another one ... love them ...

They have discontinued in-house production of investment cast receivers. All future production will be injection-moulded plastic, sub-contracted to KelTec. Pricing will remain unchanged. They are also rumoured to be concentrating on the RCM ammunition lines to the exclusion of all others, i.e. they are discontinuing niche chamberings like the .223, .308, .30-06, etc.

Apparently, they are also introducing that classic sports car that Bill Ruger talked about years ago as well. It will be made in Tibet and will utilize a newly developed fusion drive motor that sounds very promising.

It's all true, I read it on the internet...I've got a link here somewhere...:)

.. Ruger has tapped into a genius marketing strategy with distributor partnerships....what you can expect are some very cool versions of the M77 coming out of the Lipsey's warehouse.

Like this one - The just announced Gunsite Scout rifle in 450 Busmaster !!

It's not 1969 anymore. Rugers investment casting is state of the art with just as much strength as a machined receiver.

Your friend is as thick as pig####.

This thread is already waning, so here goes...I have no knowledge of the 450 Bushmaster cartridge so what would be the ballistics of this round and what would recoil be comparable to in the Ruger rifle referenced above? I only ask because I'm sure I want one.

It helps if you remember that fifty percent of people are below average intelligence!
