I’m going to have to try some heavier bullets I guess.

Those 75 grainer's really hammer deer. I shot a nice non-typical white tail with mine this year at around 175 yards broadside. Went 20 yards and tipped over dead. Bullet recovered under the hide. I think heavier bullets make the 223 shine and a lot more versatile than just a "varmint" gun.

Yes i agree did you use 75 grain bthp ? Wondering about those great success with fushion 62 grain but 70 plus grainers better b.c .

I've had great accuracy with the Sierra 65 grain SBT in my Hawkeye Predator in 9 twist. Yeah I know it's a different gun and slightly different twist but it may be worth a try. I find Sierra bullets are consistently more accurate than anything else in all of my rifles.

I feel I need to mention the Hornady 60 grain sp. It is my most used bullet for target shooting. Very affordable and accurate in several different rifles using many different powders. I mainly use varget and cfe 223 but many others have worked too. The Sierra 60 grain varminter, 55g HPBT, and SBT are all accurate as well. If you are having trouble finding accurate factory ammo this is the perfect reason to start reloading.
