Love the rifle but my gsg 110 round mag doesn't fit. Maybe I'm doing it wrong or got a bad mag.
You must have just missed this from my post #6
4. The magwell is very tight. The stock 10rd Ruger mag and ultra evil Ruger BX-25 will fit but after market mags like Butler Creek will not. One could open up the well or sand down the mags, but what a PITA.
Once you decide which way you go with this issue, please let us know how the drum runs for you. Really want to know how hi caps run in the American after they fit. I watched a guy get nothing but jams with one in a 10/22 this weekend.

6. The bolt release has been reported to stick alowing the bolt to travel too fat back and possibly remove from the reciever on rearward stroke.
Doesn't it have a Bolt Lock buttom to release it? Or is that faulty and you can just pull it out on the backward motion?
Liking the It can use the 10/22 mags =)
I returned the mag yesterday
Has anyone been able to find #12 weaver bases? I'd rather not use 3/8 rings if I don't have to.
I can't find the youtube video that showed it again. In the vid the guy showed how the bolt release (button) would fail to stop the bolt from traveling out of the receiver on the rearward stroke of the bolt. It was not happening every time, but how often would that have to happen to pi$$ you off? Hoping it is an isolated incident.

I would give the savage mkII a good look before you jump at the ruger. If im not mistaken they are also made in lakefield ontario. From what I here they are great little tack drivers

Well i got mine the other day and ive since put 500 rounds through it. So far i think its a great gun for the money.
The Good: good trigger
Quick 60 degree bolt throw
100% reliable
Good sights
Changeable cheek peice
Good solid plastic stock
Accurate with everything i tried. 5 or so kinds of ammo.
Points very well
The not so good: slipery but plate
Tight magwell. The clear bx-1 i baugh with it didnt fit and took 20 min of fiting for it to drop free.
Rough machining. mind you it doesn't affect performence and it seems was done to lower cost.
The 3/8 dovetail is a little out of spec.
Conclusion: its a very well engineered gun definitely worth a look and its asking price.
OK found that vid where the guy had the bolt not stopping from the bolt catch on the rearward stroke.
