Can anyone confirm that all of the Ruger American rifles are built on a long action then just run shorter magazines and such for the short action calibers?
Or are there actually 2 different action lengths?
I was wondering the same thing, so I compared the specs on Rugers website. The 308 is half an inch shorter and slightly lighter than the 30-06, both with 22" barrels. So it would seem there are two different action lengths.
