Ruger American Bolt Seizure

No, trying to decide if I should buy a rubber mallet and tap the bolt out, take it to a gunsmith 120km's away when they finish with another one of my guns or send it in to ruger warranty.

Well - You stated that you were able to lift the bolt handle while seized. That eliminates lug setback. This is indicative of the round sticking in the chamber. Have you tried?

1) With the handle lifted, grab the rifle firmly and give a good thump to the butt pad against the floor.
2) Go buy a length of steel rod from Can Tire, slightly undersize to the bore, and insert from muzzle end. Again, with handle lifted, tap the rod with a hammer.

So I just tapped the bolt out with a hammer wrapped in electrical tape and the bolt the same. Still not sure what is going wrong here though.

The bolt is free of fouling and seems fine.

I guess I will try cleaning the chamber again?

Well, it's official.

I'm a dumbass and lucky that I have all my fingers toes and eyes.

I just pulled about half of a cleaning patch out of the section of the action in front of the chamber.

From here on in I will be examining the action and chamber with a flashlight before I shoot.

Wow do I ever feel like an idiot here.

D4Dave1, you are a wise man.
