Just saw it listed under new items available in .308. ? I can find anything anywhere as I thought it was only available in .223/.556 .300 &.450.
I have the .223 and really like it for what it is. The .308 would make a great bush/ atv gun for larger game.
It's strange that nothing is even on Ruger site as they usually list distributors exclusives. I guess I could call Ruger / Cablela's to see as it wasn't listed yesterday.
Item # 156870 shows stock online but not at the two Edmonton stores.

~16" barrell would sure make it nice and easy to hop out of the truck with. The $780 price tag is enough though, if there's a Ruger rebate or Cabela's sale sometime soon I'll definitely look into picking one up. Can anyone confirm that the .308 also comes with a muzzle brake? The description on the website only mentions the .450.

Just the threaded cap as far as I can tell...

Well thanks to a typo in the new Cabela's flyer I picked one up this evening for a very reasonable price. Flyer showed regular price of $780 with '$80 Off' but a sale price of $540. They made a happy customer out of me by honouring the flyer price a day early. I've had nothing but good service from my local Cabela's.

Also it does come with the muzzle brake as well as a thread protector.

Edit: I guess it wasn't a typo or they just decided to go with it since it was in print already, the $539.99 price is on their website now and shows 'In Stock Online'.

Soooo, is the twist the normal 1:10 or 1:12? I expect the add simply copied the specs for the .450 Bushmaster version.

The packaging, manual, and barrel make no mention of twist rate. Looking down the barrel with my untrained eye I would guess that there is more than a full twist along its 16" length. Every other Ruger American in .308 is listed as 1:10 so I would assume that to be the case here as well.
