Ruger American ranch 7.62x39 on LSS-XL-2

I have a Ruger American Ranch Gen II in 5.56 which i bought to replace my Gen I in same.
The LSSXL AR does fit the gen II as well; however, a bit of milling is required to accommodate the new 3-pos safety.

Not sure if brand new versions on the LSS-XL SA RAR will include this milling. Maybe MDT mills them out now before cerakote.

I run mine with an MDT buffer tube and a magpul stock. I have never understood the utility of a folding stock on a scoped rifle.

Oh, if they only could offer that LSS-XL for RAR short action AR in the FIXED version too!
That would shorten the whole thing a good 1", allowing a folding interface without the need for "Saskwach" arms...
I have a retired Ruger RPR stock that would be put to good use.
the tang safety is what seems to be what’s keeping it carbine only.

Transport and storage. Long cases suck.
