Ruger American Ranch 762x39 Quality Control

That's not to say the Ruger can't shoot, or work right. I have a buddy who put one into a Magpul stock and it works great. The Magpul stock made it fit nice and IMO made it a much better gun. But the original stock was garbage and got thrown out into the trash the moment he took it off. And the fact he even had to throw out a new stock and buy a new one is ridiculous. IMO for the price it's unacceptable.

Arrrgghh! The horror!:runaway:

Would anybody that is planning on throwing out their RAR 7.62x39mm stock, please contact me instead.

At the very least, I'll gladly pay the shipping for it.

Pay the current 800 and then feel the pain yourself.

Or not. Sub 1" capable with a "trash stock" that was inletted fine on the last two. One in 6.5 CM that I didn't get around to shooting but the stock inletting is straight.

I'd also happily take any stock considered "trash" and destined for the garbage lol

Nice! I'll have to pull mine out and see if the barrel is straight in the channel.

Meanwhile, we'll fight over all the throwaway stocks like a seagull and a pelican fighting over a fish.

Rugers QC went down the ####ter over a decade ago.

I got turned off them. My MK3 had to be replaced twice for QC issues. Crooked base holes, or sights, or broken rear sight.

The 10/22 take down had crooked sights. Their warranty center fix was weld and recut.

Then my 10/22 had a crooked barrel sleeve. So the barrel touched the side of the stock.

If they cannot do what they been known for, hearing other issues doesn't surprise me.

LMFAO.

Well, if you never even noticed if the channel is off center or not...probs aint making much difference!

I've had blessed Ruger luck I guess. Hawkeyes, Americans and GP100s have been great thus far. No QC issues yet.

I'll have to pull mine out and look at them.

I just cleaned three of my Ruger .22LR's last week.

I pulled out my RAR in 7.62x39mm to inspect while I was at it.

I didn't notice anything wrong with any of them and I'm usually pretty picky.

Maybe I got lucky, too.:d

I haven't shot any of them yet. It's driving me nuts!

Guess we're finally some kinda lottery winners at least lol.

Weather been keeping you from shooting, or just too busy?

A lot of factors have kept me from shooting, unfortunately.

The weather has been fine, but COVID kept me from crossing the border to shoot at my favourite club in the States (that is no more than 25 minutes away.)

The best "local" range is an hour away and I don't like the commute.

I've been planning on moving to the States but their real estate went crazy after the lockdowns.

I really just want a nice house on a fertile acreage, with a shop and private range.

Then I wouldn't have to worry about constantly packing everything up, or forgetting something at home.

Nice rifles, BTW!

I hope that I got lucky with mine, since I have lousy luck playing the lotteries.

Last year, I bought a Ruger American Rimfire Ranch in .22LR to complement my RAR in 7.62x39mm.

Bullseye North has them on sale for $530.99 until the end of today.

Ah man....sorry to hear it. All of the above blows. "Interesting times" eh? Are the same border restrictions still in place?

Good luck finding that spread of land/house.

How do you like the Rimfire, or at least impressions on it so far?

I hear you. Couldn't win a raffle or lottery if there was only one ticket and I bought it. The one change on the rifles QC wise that I'm happy about is it seems that they now come with a black ejector instead of the older silver one that people reported problems with, but have had no issues here yet.

The 7.62x39 bolt is really starting to wear in and slick up nicely. Going to a 300 BLK soon since its a lot easier to reload for and there are a plethora of 30 cal bullets out there. Give up the ability to shoot cheap steel case though!

I've been winning at the Ruger lottery for decades as well...pure luck I guess?
I'll admit to being slow to warm up to the RAR's when they were first announced...but they have certainly grown on me.
I'm particularly happy to see Ruger bringing Marlin into the fold and making it a decent rifle again.

^^^^^^^ very nice collection!

What caliber is the stainless version?

Another Ruger lottery win. This ones an early run 300 Blackout. My bud swapped his stock out for the Boyd's shown there. The Hubble telescope was for working up loads and seeing what it could do while he was waiting for something more suitable.

I'm reusing his take-off stock on a rifle in the future because it works, and it'll be nice to swap out the AR style stock/mag setup and use one that carries better for hunting....with the option of returning it to AR mag trim if need be!

Very nice Joel...recoil must be comparable to a BB gun!

Its 22 magnum-ish. A max load with a 130gr Speer JHP lets you feel a little pop haha

That's an awesome trio you have there too.

Here are mine and yes the barrel is very close/touching the stock, it really depends on the angle you hold it, the 762x39 one is more centered that the .556.

Do I give a $hit......NO, I actually never even noticed till this thread popped up, and they shoot almost as good as my Tikka T3X with junk bulk .223 55 gr remington, and American eagle 124g fmj x39.

I still wouldn't hesitate to buy these rifles at even 800$ a pop
