Lent it to a friend to go through some of his copious ammo reserves. Bone head did a bad job cleaning and he used corrosive. I didn’t clean it when he returned it. Sadly I don’t think I need to say more.Did you shoot out all the bullseyes, or just want something different?
I’ll give it a clean but it looks pretty bad. Who knows. It's definitely worth trying a deep clean and see how it shoots, you never know... it might shoot great! And as Prairieshots points out it could be a good, dedicated, salty surplus blaster if your nicely stocked up.
I never really thought of a different calibre. 6ARC would be interesting as I’m running an MDT chassis with 6ARC mags. 7.62x39 performs great in that magazine when the barrel is smooth and shinny. How bad is it? You may be surprised how much an abrasive cleaner like thorroclean or Iosso can do.
Or.. shoot it and if it still perform OK, ignore it and use it for more corrosive blasting goodness.
I'f it's really bad, might be a good opportunity for a 6 arc, 22 arc, or 6.5 grendel....
Oh awesome. I bought a 6 arc magazines to try 7.62x39 in for the same application, but when loading the mag it seemed like the rounds wanted to nosedive. Yours works well? Did you modify anything?I never really thought of a different calibre. 6ARC would be interesting as I’m running an MDT chassis with 6ARC mags. 7.62x39 performs great in that magazine when the barrel is smooth and shinny.
Ran fine. I’m not going to say perfect. I actually bought the chassis and mags off EE from a person that had tested it with success. So he did the dirty work for me. Now I need to find some evapo-rust and see what happens. It can’t make it worse ….Oh awesome. I did a lot of looking and couldn't find much for people running 7.62x39 in the 6 arc aics mag
