my brain is not working.
for some reason i keep thinking we are talking about the Mini 14 when we are talking about the American Bolt Action.
i dont know if you can fire the 556 in the 223 in the american.
i know you can in the MINI 14.
the bolt action i wouldnt risk it since they dont say you can in the manual (i just looked)
but from what i can tell most of the Bolt Action Americans are labeled 556/223 so they would be ok.
if you get one in 223 only then no no no!

man you need to lay off the coffee and relax - it's not that big a deal in a bolt gun, probably less so than in even a mini-14...
 
Nice rifle....not sure I'd trade in my 700 SPS AAC with 16.5" barrel for one, but if I was shopping I'd give it a look...
