Ruger American Ranch Rifle Where To Get

I wanted the ranch as well, but found it impossible to find also. So i decided id settle on the ruger american predator.
I bought the predator on cabelas.ca since none of my local gun shops could get one in quick enough.

Just my opinion but take a good hard long look at the predator, i love it.

fire me a message for pictures if your interested.

Only draw back is that ive had a few jams while loading .223 shells. A buddy said the predators barrel entrance has a tighter constriction then other barrels, so this is why this is happening. I just haven't pinpointed which ammo it doesn't like.

That being said with 53grain Vmax hornday's at 100 yards off the bench i'm within a dollar, and once or twice within in a quarter size.

Hope this helps.

Seems like no one has the 223 in stock right now and I think 300blk is kind of pointless in Canada.

If you're buying premade cartridges then yes. 223 makes more sense; but "pointless in Canada"..

One can load from 90gr to 240gr projectiles. The supersonic loads will peak around 1500lb/ft energy VS 16" 223 @ 1060lb/ft.
A 30cal hole obviously bleeds out as it punches a bigger hole than a 22cal hole.
The brass is same price and plentifully available as its formed with strictly dies and some labour from prevalent 223 brass.
Primers, same.
Powder, the 16gr powder will push a 150gr projectile plenty well, vs 27gr I use for 55gr 223 projectile. So savings there.
Projectiles, bulk 223 55gr @ $120/1000pcs? Bulk 300 m80 ball @ $280/1000pcs.

Subsonics are useful in a 30cal, putting out more energy than 45acp does point blank and does so out to hundreds of yards.
You're neutering your 223 to 22lr energy levels by making subsonics.

223 is a great cartridge though. Don't get me wrong.

In summation; ballpark 40% more energy (if wanted), also works well in short bbl AR. I'm sold.

So where are mags for these....specifically .308 based. Looked all over with no luck?
(Side note, I can down load .308 to anything 300bl and upload it to double the energy, so if you have a .308 the 300bl is pointless lol)

Cabelas.ca has the synthetic stock - SS Ranch in stock at the moment. Whoops, thought you meant the mini14 Ranch. My bad.

FFS, I looked at Brownells 3 times and couldn't find them lol.
I've been reading some not so good stories on the American mags...hopefully the ones I get work well.

Mag on my RAR took me an hour and a half to get it to feed well.
Out of the box wouldn't chamber a single round. Dissassembly, some sanding and re-forming feed lips with heat gun and it thus far seems golden.

Lots of bad news out there on these mags and I can see why. Biggest fault I can find in the gun by far. A double stack with loss of one round would've been fine with me.

@ $38.99 ame?

Less 10% because I'm special lol. I picked up 4 of them too, want to make sure I get a couple that work at minimum. I'd rather not buy someone else's problem mags, if there is anything wrong with these I know I can send em back to Brownells.
