Ruger American Ranch Thread - Lets see what you got!

That ammo doesn't really shoot great in anything. Laugh2

Even in my Tikka CTR it's not very accurate. But its cheap and good enough for clanking gongs as long as you aren't expecting miracles at longer distances. The 55gr bullet gets pushed around quite a bit past 300 yards or so.

I had just set up my AR and reloading to run 300blk right before the Liberals went full retard so i was left with all 300blk stuff and nothing to shoot it from so i ordered a 300blk ar ranch from IRG still in transit but i look forward to it

Mine in x39 is enroute....got a PRimary arms 1-6 ffp raptor scope .....got some mini30 mags coming aswell....beavers beware!!!!

Just tried 4 types of magazines

RRA Metal - fed well and smooth
MFT Polymer- fed reasonably well
IMI Polymer- clunky and rough
Thermold Polymer- didn’t work well at all

Hitting an 8” gong at 365 yards was no problem with the bulk 55gr ammo as soon as I figured out the windage. It’s usually a bit breezy here so holding off to one side a bit produced consistent hits. Good enough for bulk 55gr ammo.

I just just finished setting mine in 7.62x39 up with a vortex viper 3-9x40 with the idea to be a lightweight deer rife and something to have some fun with cheap surplus ammo. Love how it shoots, but not a fan of how it ejects. After about 60 rounds or so today, I would say only a few ejected properly, the rest required them to be pulled out, shaken out, or even have the mag dropped to clear. Extractor and ejector both look good so not sure what the deal is. Emailed the Bullseye North, Korth, and Ruger to see if they have any suggestions. Otherwise it's a great shooter. Picked up a couple of 5/30 metal mags for it and they also worked great, better than the factory 5rnd.

Still not sure what was going on, but ejection problem solved. Was about to ship in for warranty, pulled the optic and rings and decided to test again, and she fed and ejected perfectly. Put the scope and rings back on the same slots and torqued back to spec, still perfect. Back to the range to check sighting and ran flawlessly, grouping close to an inch at at 100m with even the cheapest milsurp.
