I am thinking about buying a ruger American in 22 mag but I wanted to know what people thought about it? For those of you who have one, what are your reviews on the gun? Is it as durable as people say and is it worth the price?

i dont have the mag but i have the normal Ruger American Rimfire in 22 and i really like it.
i found the action a little stiff at first but now that ive put a couple hundred rounds down the pipe its nice and smooth.
ive even had mine out in -30 and its runs real good.

ive got no problems recommending that gun to anyone whos looking for an inexpensive gun.
i have been tossing around the idea of picking one up in 22 mag because i dont have a 22 mag and am interested in shooting that round some.

heres mine.

Yea I have been debating between 22lr and 22mag but I figured since there is a ruger 10/22 in my family already along with a Winchester wildcat I believe and is in 22 lr as well, I figured mine as well get a 22 mag. Plus, I can now take down some coyotes comfortably. I would grab a 22 mag as well if I were you but maybe in a different gun so you don't have two of the same (maybe a CZ?). Thanks for input. Appreciate it

I own the RAR .22 and a Savage MK2 TR

Savage is more accurate and smoother feeding.

RAR is picky on mags and ammo as well.

YMMV

The Blue Laminate is the RAR

I've heard good things on the MK2 TR. It's just a bit more than I was looking to spend. By the way, loving the stock on that RAR!!

I got a thing for Boyds stock and .22's lol....

Didnt realize the MK2 TR's were that much more now... Picked mine up used for 400$ couple years back.
