Some of the older model 12.6 Bearcats have been modified by gunsmiths to have a longer barrel (restricted). There was a used and modified 5" Bearcat for sale in Edmonton a while back and one on EE that had been modified by Epps. I'm not aware that there have been any new Bearcats produced with other than the 4.2" barrel which meets California and Canada's requirements.

the New Bearcat, re-introduced in the last year or so is 4.2"

all the previous ones were 12.6

x2 on this. The new Bearcat has a 4.2" Barrel and is therefore restricted only. I had the oppurtunity to handle this pistol recently at my local shop. Very nice indeed. I especially liked the stainless model. If I hadn't just picked up a Colt I would have been all over it.

The new model is restricted. I just had one sent to me from P & D Enterprises (they still on on their website in stainless). It is by far one of the most beautiful revolvers I have ever used.

It was however shipped with a missing screw in the action which caused it too lock up. I had to send it to Quebec for a warranty repair.

Since then it's worked incredible, and is very accurate.
