Is there a difference between a Ruger Blackhawk and a Super Blackhawk or is it the same thing just with the word super left out of the description

Not sure about this anymore but at one time, Super Blackhawk had unfluted cyl. and back of trigger guard was squared off ala Dragoon. The std. BH was like all other Bhs.

X2 on what Ben has stated, with perhaps one small exception. The early BH models are classified or described as a 'Flattop' which is a result of the top of the frame between the rear sight and barrel being flat. Later models had a slight ramp on either side just infront of the rear sight.
